As a musician’s instrumental proficiency develops, so too does their artistic taste and temperament. Each ANAM musician’s recital is a snapshot in time - simultaneously summarising their year of training and revealing glimpses of their future selves. What music excites them? And, in 2024 the ANAM Set is back in a special iteration. Musicians in their 3rd year of training present a specially commissioned work as part of their recital program.
Who are we?
"In my final ANAM recital I am honing into the concept of personal identity and the human experience. Through a mix of Australian and Italian compositions, I have chosen works that feature traditional folk/dance elements, modern societal commentary and more philosophical concepts.
The recital features the premiere of Christine Pan's ANAM Set piece Echo Chamber for solo clarinet. It is a powerful work and a musical exploration of the impact that technology has in modern society."
