Born and raised in Melbourne, Daniel Le was hailed by the New York Concert Review as a “brilliant young pianist.” Daniel has enjoyed an international career spanning four continents. He has been described as an incredibly versatile soloist, chamber musician and innovative artist.
After Daniel’s debut with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in 2015, he was immediately re-engaged for two consecutive seasons. In 2019, he made his debut with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Other performances have brought Daniel to venues including Lincoln Center in New York, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Centre, Melbourne Recital Center, Hamer Hall, Queensland Performing Arts Theatre and Concert Hall, and Waseda University in Japan. Competition successes include top prizes in the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition, Australian National Piano Award, and Kerikeri International Piano Competition. He was recently a finalist in the Naumburg International Piano Award in New York City.
Daniel is also an active chamber musician and recently won the Fuchs Chamber Music Competition . He has collaborated with members of the Chamber Music Society at the Lincoln Center. Festival appearances include Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and Bowdoin International Music Festival where he worked with renowned musicians from the Emerson, Brentano, Shanghai and Miro String Quartets. Recent collaborations include ensembles such as the Southern Cross Soloists, Camerata Chamber Orchestra and Queensland Symphony Orchestra as soloist in Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
Daniel completed his studies at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music as a two-time recipient of the Steven Baxter Scholarship under Prof. Thomas Hecht, and his Master and Doctorate degrees at the Manhattan School of Music with Andre-Michel Schub. A keen and passionate pedagogue, Daniel continues to give masterclasses and workshops across Asia and Australia.
