Mitchell Berick is an ANAM Academy Musician, studying with Principal Teacher David Thomas. Mitchell Berick completed a Bachelor of Music degree with First Class Honours at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, studying with Frank Celata and Margery Smith, where he was the recipient of a Faculty Medal for Outstanding Ability. Subsequently he was awarded a scholarship to study towards a Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music, London, studying with Mark Van de Weil of the Philharmonia Orchestra, Nicholas Rodwell of the Covent Garden Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and bass clarinet with Richard Addison of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Mitchell Berick has also participated in masterclasses with artists including Alan Hacker, Andrew Marriner, Michael Collins, Henri Bok and Mark van de Weil. Mitchell Berick maintains a strong interest in all types of performance, and is currently Principal Clarinet with the Australian Youth Orchestra.
He has also performed with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Academy of Music Symphony and Concert Orchestras, the Sydney Sinfonia and the Sydney Youth Orchestra.
