Elina YASUMOTO, PIANO
Elina Yasumoto has broadcast solo recitals and chamber music with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Classic FM and MBS-FM network. She has also performed both solo and as a concerto soloist on Australian television. She has performed the Liszt Piano Concerto no.1 with the University of Melbourne Faculty of Music Orchestra under the baton of Marco Zuccarini and this year will be performing Rachmaninov’s third Piano Concerto with Orchestra Victoria. Elina has performed in venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Government House Sydney, Sydney Town Hall, Melbourne Town Hall, the Great Hall in Canberra, the Sydney Entertainment Centre and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. Elina was the recipient of the Australian Postgraduate Award and twice received the Dean’s Award at the Sydney Conservatorium. This year Elina is a finalist in the Australian National Piano Award and the Australian National Academy of Music Concerto Competition. Elina studied with Elizabeth Powell and Stephen McIntyre AM. She is currently a pupil of Rita Reichman in the Advanced Performance Program at the Australian National Academy of Music.
