Christa currently studies viola with teachers Roger Benedict and Fiona Sargeant at the Australian National Academy of Music. She has recently completed her Bachelor of Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts, studying with Marco van Pagee.
Christa has been heavily involved in many AYO programs over the past 6 years, including the 2007 European Tour, Chamber Music Camp, and TSO Development Program. She is the violist of the Sartory Quartet, which was quartet in residence at Murray Conservatorium in 2007, being mentored by the Flinders Quartet and giving concerts in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and many regional centres, as part of a Young Australian Concert Artists tour.
Christa has benefited from lessons and masterclasses with Paul Neubauer, Hartmut Lindemann, Peter Buch, Tobias Lea, and the Goldner String Quartet.
Recent and future solo engagements include Hamer Hall, performing with the Victorian College of the Arts Symphony Orchestra, Kooyong Chamber Players and the Melbourne International Arts Festival. She has been awarded several prizes, including the 2006 Brunner Prize for violin/viola, the 2006 Hugh Rogers Boston Scholarship and the 2005 Frances Quinn Scholarship. Her performances have been recorded and broadcast nationally and locally for ABC FM and 3MBS.
