Benjamin Anderson

Benjamin started tertiary studies at the University of Melbourne in 2006 doing concurrent degrees in science and music under the tutelage of Charles MacInnes and Michael Bertoncello. After pursuing this for two years he began to focus more on his music studies, choosing to discontinue his science degree. During his course in Melbourne he was awarded the Frank Barzyck Prize for best undergraduate brass recital.

After finishing his first degree, he went on to pursue a second degree as a transfer student at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music – National University of Singapore, studying with Shannon Pittaway.

Ensembles that Benjamin has performed with include: the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Macao Orchestra, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Australian International Summer Orchestra Institute, and the Australian Youth Orchestra – National Music Camp. In his spare time Benjamin enjoys cooking, likely because he is also a passionate fan of eating.
